Honour killings of girls happen right in our midst

The book Rebel Girls is dedicated to Ryan al Najjar (18), killed by her father and elder brothers in The Netherlands. You can read more about her life and the trial in a special chapter in the book. Claus was present at the trial for Ryan al Najjar (18), victim of a so called 'honour killing' in The Netherlands. The killers got convicted to 30 and 20 years, respectively, but the father escaped back to Syria on the day of the murder. What can governments do to help these girls, who are just longing for freedom? Step 1: make all religious coverings for girls illegal.
