Femmes for Freedom

Femmes for Freedom is a Dutch human-rights organisation that fights for the freedom and self-determination of women and girls, with a particular focus on those from bicultural and migrant backgrounds. It tackles problems such as marital captivity, forced and child marriage, abandonment and honour-related violence — issues that too often fall between the cracks of existing law and policy. The organisation combines direct support for victims with structural change: it runs awareness campaigns, trains professionals, and lobbies politicians and institutions at both national and international level. By giving a voice to women who are otherwise unheard, Femmes for Freedom works to ensure that every woman can live free from coercion and violence.
